In the gay bear community, we don’t just celebrate huggable hairy men—we honor artistry, passion, and authenticity. Few embody this union as powerfully as David Goldenberg and Louis Kwong: two London-based, muscular, bearded photographers whose work—and love—redefines how we see the male form.

What began as architectural photography has evolved into something far more intimate. These two rugged artists no longer limit their lenses to skylines and cityscapes. Increasingly, they turn their cameras on each other—on their own strong, hairy bodies, and those of close friends. The results are breathtakingly sensual. In both their photographs and video projects—most notably David’s compelling “The Fundoshi Project”—the male body takes center stage, often nude, but never crude. Nudity here is suggested rather than shouted, elegance wrapped in shadow, sinew, and quiet strength.

For Louis, photography is deeply personal. As an Asian man raised in a conservative home, he grew up hearing that love between two men was shameful, something to hide. Meeting David changed that. Their partnership became not just romantic, but expressive. Through his lens, Louis shows the world a tenderness between men that he was once told could not exist. His photographs are a celebration of his freedom, of self-acceptance, of love.
The two men plan to seal their love in marriage soon, right in the heart of London. Their union is more than legal—it is poetic. Their relationship is a living testament to strength in vulnerability, to affection in masculinity, and to the beauty of two bears building something bigger than either could alone.

David’s photographs have also been featured in Bruno Gmünder’s acclaimed book HAIR, a bold, visual homage to the rugged, the wild, and the undeniably masculine.
Together, David and Louis remind us that love is art—and art, when honest and fearless, is always love.
