ManBears Social

Manbears Social is the relaxed monthly heart of Manchester’s bear community. Every second Saturday afternoon, from 4 pm until 8 pm, bears, cubs, chubs, otters, pups, chasers and their admirers gather at The Black Eagle on Bloom Street for a free, easy-going meet-up that feels more like hanging out with mates than attending an organised event.

There is no dress code and no pressure. Board games are usually scattered around the tables, video games sometimes make an appearance, and a few nibbles are available while people chat over a drink. Some arrive alone and leave with new friends; others simply catch up with familiar faces. The atmosphere stays deliberately low-key and welcoming, giving newcomers a gentle way into the local scene and giving regulars a reliable place to reconnect without the noise or intensity of a full club night.

The social sits at the centre of the wider Manbears Manchester group, which has spent years building a friendly network across Greater Manchester and the North West. While the same organisers also put on larger weekends and busier parties, the monthly afternoon gathering remains the steady, everyday backbone of the community — a space where the focus stays firmly on conversation, company and simply being together as bears.
