BearScots Social
BearScots Socials form the regular heartbeat of Scotland’s bear scene. Organised by the volunteer-run BearScots group, these relaxed monthly nights bring together bears, cubs, chubs, brutes, big boys and their admirers in a friendly, no-pressure atmosphere with no entry fee and no dress code.
In Edinburgh the social takes place on the second Saturday of the month at The Regent Bar, usually from 9pm until 1am. Glasgow hosts its night on the first Saturday at Bacchus Basement, running later into the early hours with a resident DJ on the decks. Dundee has also joined the calendar with its own welcoming gatherings at Duke’s Corner, giving bears further north a regular local option.
Whether you are a regular or arriving for the first time, volunteers are often on hand to help newcomers settle in. The emphasis is simply good company, conversation and a pint in spaces that celebrate every shape, size and age within the community. These socials keep the Scottish bear scene connected month after month across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.
