BearScotFest
BearScotFest is Scotland’s flagship autumn bear weekend, held each year in Edinburgh by the long-running BearScots group. Over several days in late September or early October it brings together bears, cubs, chubs, otters and admirers for a lively mix of parties, brunches, socials, a sauna session and the crowning of Mr. BearScots, with signature nights at atmospheric venues across the city.

The same group also runs BearScotWest in Glasgow over the late May Bank Holiday. This shorter, more intimate three-day gathering focuses on community and social connection, offering a warm-up for the bigger Edinburgh festival later in the year.
Both weekends share the friendly, inclusive spirit that has defined BearScots since 2000. Whether you prefer the larger festival atmosphere of Edinburgh or the cosier Glasgow socials, the Scottish bear scene delivers a genuine welcome, plenty of fur and the chance to meet people from across the UK and beyond.

Scotland’s long-running bear group hosts a major autumn weekend in Edinburgh packed with parties, brunches, socials, a sauna and a title contest, drawing bears, cubs and admirers from across the UK. The same friendly community also stages a shorter, more intimate May gathering in Glasgow focused on social connection. Both events reflect the warm, inclusive spirit that has defined the Scottish scene for more than two decades, with regular monthly meets in both cities year-round.
